Tutorial Tuesday - Explosion Box

It's Tutorial Tuesday, once again, here at Sunflowers and Dragonflies. I know there are some ladies anxious for a transfer tutorial, and I promise to post that next week. In the meantime, please enjoy an explosion box.

Supplies:

Scor-Pal or score blade
9" square cardstock for outside box
9" square cardstock for inside box
4 - 2 7/8" squares of patterned paper
4 - 2 3/4" squares of patterned paper
5 1/8" square for lid

Score your inside of box at 3" and 9" both horizontally and vertically.

Score outside 9" x 9" square at 3" and 9" both horizontally and vertically.

Cut a 5 1/8" square for the top cover of your box. Score at 1" from each edge.

Cut four 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" squares.

Cut four 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" squares.

Adhere the 2 7/8" squares to the outside of your paper. Score diagonal lines from the outside edge towards the corner of the centre square.

Cut your 2 3/4" squares on a diagonal and adhere them to the corners of your paper.

Cut out the four corner squares.

Clip corners as shown in photo. Fold clipped edges in and secure tightly with a glue dot.

You are now ready to decorate your box.
